The Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) is administered by the Georgia Department of Community Health, Division of Medical Assistance Plans, and we operate under its Policies and Procedures for In-Home Nursing.
GAPP serves Medicaid-eligible children under 21 who have medically necessary skilled nursing and/or personal care support needs at home. Per the DCH manual, members qualify up to age 20 years 11 months and age out on their 21st birthday. Medicaid eligibility is determined by your local county DFCS office.
No. GAPP is the Georgia Pediatric Program — a Medicaid program for in-home skilled nursing, not a waiver. Implemented in 2002 by the Department of Community Health, it provides medically necessary nursing and personal care support for eligible children in their homes.
Services are reviewed and approved by Alliant Health Solutions on behalf of DCH, based on medical necessity and program standards. Medicaid eligibility must be confirmed first. Once your child is approved, in-home nursing care can typically begin within 24–72 hours.
