Everything you need to know about GAPP.
GAPP (Georgia Pediatric Program) is a Medicaid waiver program that funds in-home skilled nursing and support services for medically fragile children and young adults in Georgia. To qualify, a child must be Medicaid-eligible and have a complex medical condition requiring a level of care that would otherwise require hospitalization or a nursing facility. Common qualifying conditions include ventilator dependence, tracheostomy, complex feeding needs (PEG/NG tubes), and other high-acuity diagnoses.
Yes. As a GAPP-certified provider, Core Health Group can provide skilled nursing for ventilator-dependent children in the home — including respiratory monitoring, ventilator circuit management, emergency response, and caregiver education. This is one of the most critical services GAPP funds, allowing families to avoid prolonged hospitalizations.
Yes, GAPP eligibility is based on Medicaid qualification. However, some families who are not currently enrolled in Medicaid may qualify based on their child's medical diagnosis. We help families navigate the Medicaid enrollment process and GAPP waiver application at no cost. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
GAPP authorization is based on your child's individual medical needs, assessed by the state and your physician. Some children receive a few hours of skilled nursing daily; others with high medical complexity receive 8–16 hours per day. Our clinical team advocates on your behalf during the authorization process to ensure your child receives adequate coverage.
